Who we are:
Sarah Schaefer is the founder and owner of Leash and Lockets, as well as a fellow pet lover. She is currently Leash and Lockets only employee as our company is still starting up. Leash and Lockets is targeted towards pet lovers who love their pets just as much as she does and wants a way to have a constant reminder of them. Sarah is currently studying Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Tampa. With her background in branding, design, and Adobe software she became interested in starting a small business of her own. The Leash and Lockets community is built up of dog lovers throughout the United States.
How we Started:
Leash and Lockets was founded in 2023 by Sarah Schaefer after attending an out-of-state school, The University of Tampa. Going to a school 1,000 miles away from her hometown, and therefore her dog began taking its toll as she missed seeing her dog everyday as she was accustomed to. She decided she wanted a reminder of her dog with her throughout her days in Tampa. Sarah purchased an air freshener with her dog’s face on it and she was quick to see how easily this small reminder of him every time she got into her car made her smile. Sarah wanted others to experience this feeling. She uses her car keys every single day and wanted some type of keychain that reminded her of him. She began coming up with ideas and designing possible products until Leash and Lockets was born.
Love of Pets:
Sarah began Leash and Lockets based off of her love for her dog, Finnegan. At Leash and Lockets, pets are family and family deserves to be celebrated in every way possible. Our products which include custom keychains, dog tags, bookmarks, and stickers are all crafted under the conception that our pets are a major part of our lives. We want our products to symbolize the unique bond between pets and their owners. The most important aspect of our company is customization. Customization allows our designers to use your pet’s personality as inspiration and to create a product that resembles your fur baby as best as possible. Each product is crafted with meticulous detail, ensuring they reflect the unique features and personality of your beloved pets.
Design Process:
At Leash and Lockets, we strive to make a simple and easy process for customers to customize and order their products with ease. Customers only have to choose the image of their pet and put in their preferences such as color, addition of text, and which shape they want. We believe pet owners should be able to celebrate their love for their pets in style and that pets deserve the best which is why we not only make products for humans, but we also make them for pets.
